Researchers from University of Kiel provide details of new studies and findings in the area of chemistry

"Reaction of manganese and iron thiocyanate with pyrimidine in solution at room temperature leads to the formation of the isotypic new ligand-rich 1:2 (1:2 = ratio between metal and ligand) compounds [Mn(NCS)(2)(pyrimidine)(2)](n) (1) and [Fe(NCS)(2)(pyrimidine)(2)](n) (2). Their crystal structures were determined by single crystal X-ray analysis," investigators in Kiel, Germany report.
