According to the authors of recent research published in the journal Food Research International, "This paper describes the development of a concept to measure the safety of the food chain in Belgium based on the 'Pressure-State-Response' model. The actual measurement tool or barometer consists of a measurement of the 'State' based on a set of indicators."
